KVPY 2019 Exam Pattern & Cut-off: Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana or KVPY is very sought after the fellowship of Basic Sciences for Class XI, XII and undergraduates. It's a fellowship to encourage teens with an aptitude and passion for Sciences to follow their dreams. To be a fellow of KVPY, one has to clear an aptitude test held in November, followed by an interview. In this article, we give a detailed pattern of the aptitude test for KVPY 2019 and previous year cut-offs of all categories.

KVPY Aptitude Test 2019: Exam Pattern

KVPY Aptitude Test 2019 will be conducted on 3rd November 2019. The exam will be conducted only in the online CBT (Computer Based Test) mode. The candidates can choose to appear for the exam in either of the modes. All the students can choose to attempt this multiple choice question paper in English or Hindi Language.  KVPY Aptitude Test 2019: Paper Pattern for SA Stream

The aptitude test question paper for SA Stream (Class 11th) is divided into 2 parts each having 4 sections for Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. All the questions are compulsory. Let's check the paper pattern and marks distribution:

KVPY Aptitude Test 2019: Paper Pattern for SX/SB Stream

For SX (Class 12) and SB (First Year Undergraduate Science) stream, the pattern is slightly different. First of all, all the sections are not compulsory any more. In the first part, a candidate has to attempt any 3 out the 4 sections of Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Each question in this part is still worth 1 marks, but there are 20 questions in each section. In the second part, the student has to attempt any 2 of the 4 sections. Each section has 10 questions of 2 marks each. The total maximum marks are still 100.

KVPY Aptitude Test 2019: Cut off

The overall merit list is prepared on the basis of the aptitude test as well as the interview. The weightage of both is:

  • 75 % of the marks in the Aptitude Test
  • 25 % of the marks in the Interview

Based on this criteria, the following is the category-wise cut-off in various streams:
