How to Prepare for REET in 3 Months?

REET stands for Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers. REET is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan (BSER), to fulfill the teacher vacancies in government schools. Aspirants must prepare a proper study routine. We are providing some preparation tips for the candidates which will help in making a working Plan for clearing REET Exam in 3 months.

REET is being held at two levels:

  • Level-1 is for primary classes (Class Ist to Vth), and
  • Level-2 is conducted for secondary classes (Class VIth to VIIth). 

The prospective candidate must go through the syllabus of the REET Level 1 and Level 2 before appearing in the exam. Candidates should spend at least 3 to 4 hours understanding the intricacies of the syllabus.

REET 2023 Exam Pattern Overview

  • The Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility test Consists of two papers (I & II), and each paper has 150 questions.
  • There are a total of 5 sections in Level - 1 and 4 sections in Level - 2.
  • Level - 1 is for those candidates who want to become a teacher at primary school and Level- 2 is for the teacher in Upper Primary school.
  • It is an online Paper & there will be no negative marking. 
  • A total of 150 minutes will be given to complete the test.

After thoroughly understanding the syllabus in-depth, one should prepare a proper timetable that should be religiously followed to crack the exam on the first attempt. Try to study at least 6 hours per day to give considerable time to all the subjects, and ensure timely completion of the syllabus before time, so that much time should be left for revision before the exam date.

Subject-wise Preparation Tips

  • The reason behind allocating more time to Mathematics and Child Development and Pedagogy is because of the complexity of the subject.

  • Most of the candidates find Mathematics subjects challenging to understand so much time is allocated to them.

  • Child Development & Pedagogy is a bit vast subject as it involves theories and psychology. Candidates can manage their time according to their interest in the subject or the level of difficulty of the question.

  • Language subjects which are English, Hindi, and Sanskrit must not be taken lightly. You need less time but consistent efforts and daily revision.

  • Environment Studies is a subject that is connected to your daily life. One should try to keep in touch with the essential topics and revise other issues daily.

  • Science and Social Science have a vast syllabus and require regular attention. Keep track of the syllabus you covered. Make short notes to remember the dates, influential people, and events.

First Month Strategy

  3. Start collecting or preparing notes on each topic and synchronize them according to the units. Try to make notes in your known language, and it becomes easy to understand.
  4. Refer to only 2 to 3 of the best books for all subjects of the renowned author to maintain the authenticity of the study materials. 
  5. Start collecting the previous year's questions, they will come in handy during revision, and they will provide you with a better insight into the type of questions asked in the REET.

Second Month Strategy

  1. The second month is very crucial for the candidates preparing for the REET exam as this month involves many dedications and the syllabus needs to be completed and ready for revision.
  2. You need to work on the doubts and confusion now.
  3. Try to sort the Houston as the basis of the syllabus that still needs to finish.
  4. Try to create a mnemonic for remembering facts and figures. For example, for the Mathematics subject- prepare a list of all formulas that can be helpful to remember at the last moment before appearing for the exam.
  5. After completing each topic, practice the questions either with the help of mini mock tests or the daily quizzes related to the problem.

Third Month Strategy

  1. Last month is for the revision, which means no new topics and revising all the topics you have already completed.
  2. Try to give importance to the subject that you find difficult to understand. Give it more time.
  3. Practice mock tests regularly; it will keep you alert and prepared for the main examination.
  4. Practice the previous year's question paper in an examination hall environment within the stipulated time.
  5. At the last moment, just go through the topic you find difficult to understand no need to study the whole syllabus again, analyze your score in the mock tests, and try to revise the hard issues.

  • Basically, the REET exam is conducted for the recruitment of teachers for two different levels, namely Level I or Primary Teacher and Level II or Upper Primary Teacher. Thus, those who clear REET become eligible for the post of teachers in classes 1-5 and classes 6-8 in schools and institutions of the state.
