MLA in Nagaland

All MLAs in Nagaland are elected directly by the people from single-seat constituencies. The last Assembly elections in Nagaland were held in February 2023 in which NDPP won the majority seats and formed the government in coalition with BJP. Nagaland MLAs are responsible for carrying out the following jobs.

  • Looking after the administration of their respective constituencies.
  • Overlooking the situation of law and order in their region.
  • Representing their constituencies in the state Legislative Assembly.
