CAT 2021 Score Calculator: CAT All Day Activities & Paper Analysis

CAT 2021 is scheduled to take place on November 28, 2021 (Sunday). CAT 2021 will be held in 3 Slots i.e. Morning Slot (8.30 AM to 10.30 AM), Afternoon Slot (12:30 PM to 2:30 PM) and Evening Slot (4:30 PM to 6:30 PM). It is a crucial exam for aspirants to get into the top business schools. IIM Ahmedabad is conducting CAT this year, with TCS as the implementation partner. IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IMT Ghaziabad, MDI Gurgaon, FMS New Delhi are some of the top b-schools which accept CAT percentile as their first qualifying stage for their business and management programs.

The CAT 2021 Notification was released on July 31, 2021. CAT Exam Pattern is not specified in the Notification. CAT will have 3 Slots as mentioned in the Notification and therefore we can likely assume that the pattern will be similar to CAT 2020 Exam Pattern. In the CAT Media Release, it was mentioned that the CAT makers are attempting to reduce the number of questions while the paper will be of 2 hours. CAT Exam is expected to have 64-76 total questions

CAT Cuts Offs | CAT Score vs Percentile

CAT 2021 expected cuts depend largely on the difficulty level of the CAT Exam. Therefore it becomes very difficult to calculate CAT expected cut-offs.

CAT Exam 2021 Paper Pattern

CAT Exam Pattern is not defined in the CAT Notification. Since the duration of the CAT 2021 exam is defined as 2 hours, we are expecting the paper pattern to be similar to CAT 2020. CAT 2021 Paper pattern is mentioned below:

*Candidates will get 3 marks for every correct answer and (-1) for every wrong answer. 0 for non-attempted questions. There is no negative marking in TITA types questions

CAT 2020 Analysis & Cut Off

The CAT 2020 Exam had 76 questions in total to be completed in 120 minutes. CAT 2020 was held in 3 slots and divided into 3 sections i.e. Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). 

All 3 Slots were similar in terms of the paper pattern, questions, and level of difficulty. In terms of the difficulty level, the VARC section was lengthy and tricky, the DILR section level was close to CAT 2017-18 DILR section and the QA section level was close to CAT 2019 QA section.

CAT Result

CAT result 2021 is expected to be released in the second week of January 2022. CAT 2021 Score Card can be downloaded from the official CAT website online using a unique CAT ID and password. It will include overall and sectional scores and percentiles. 

The CAT 2020 result was announced on January 2, 2021. Similarly, CAT 2019 result was announced on January 4, 2020. The same trend will be followed in CAT 2021.
