WB TET Eligibility Criteria 2021

The West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) has prescribed the WB TET Eligibility Criteria through the notification on the official website @wbbpe.org. The board conducts the WB TET exam to determine the eligibility for the primary and secondary teachers. The eligibility criteria are different for both primary and secondary teachers. The candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria defined by the board. 

The candidate must check the age limit and education qualification for primary and secondary teachers. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the WB TET exam. If they do not meet the desired eligibility criteria their candidature will be cancelled.

Educational Qualification

  • Primary: The candidate should be a class 12th pass with a diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Secondary: The candidate must have passed Graduation in any Honours subject from a recognized private or public board.

WB TET Educational Qualification 2021

Primary Teacher (Class I to V)

Candidates must have qualified for the 12th standard by scoring a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST). Along with 12th candidates should have passed the 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education D.Ei.Ed. OR 

Candidates must have passed the 12th standard by scoring a minimum of 50% marks ( 45% marks for SC / ST) with 4 years B.El.Ed. OR 

By scoring a minimum of 50% marks (SC / ST minimum 45% marks) candidates should have qualified for the 12th standard with a Diploma in Special Education.

Secondary Teacher (Class VI to VIII)

Candidates must have qualified for the B.A / B. Sc by scoring at least 50% marks with a 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education following the NCTE. OR 

Candidates must have passed the B. A / B. Sc by scoring minimum 50% marks (for SC / ST minimum 45% marks) with 1 year B. Ed. OR 

Candidates must have passed the B.A / B. Sc standard by scoring minimum 50% marks (for SC / ST minimum 45% marks) with 4 years of Bachelor course in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR 

By scoring a minimum of 50% marks (SC / ST minimum 45% marks) candidates should have qualified for the B.A / B. Sc course with a Diploma in Special Education. OR 

The candidates must have qualified for the 12th standard by scoring 50% marks ( 45% for SC / ST) with 4-Year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed./ B.Sc. Ed is also eligible

WB TET Age Limit 2021

The West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test is an eligibility exam for primary and secondary teachers. The board has not prescribed any age limit for the WB TET exam. The minimum age limit for the exam is 18 years for primary teachers.

WB TET Eligibility Criteria: Domicile

The board has notified that the resident of West Bengal is eligible to appear for the exam. Domicile is a must to avail of the benefits of the reservation.

WB TET Eligibility Criteria: Maximum Attempts

There is no provision of maximum attempts in the WB TET exam. The online requirement to attempt the exam is the educational qualification. If you possess the minimum educational qualification you can attempt the exam at any age.
