UTET Educational Qualification

According to UTET eligibility criteria, candidates who want to apply for the upcoming exam must have a minimum educational qualification. The UTET education criteria vary depending on the course for which candidates have applied. UTET Eligibility Criteria for Upper Primary Teacher (Paper 2)

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR

Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR

Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR 

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR

Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure). OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*. OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR 

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) passed or appeared in the final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR 

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. OR 

Candidates who possessed “Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)” are now eligible for becoming teachers for Classes 1-5: Primary Stage. Such Candidates have to mandatorily undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of such appointment as a primary teacher.

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Note: B.Ed Candidates can apply for both UTET Paper 1 & 2.

UTET Age Limit Criteria

The UTET eligibility requirements for the forthcoming exam include the age restriction requirements. Candidates should be well informed of the UTET age limit criteria to ensure that their candidacy meets the standards. According to the most recent UTET eligibility criteria, the maximum age is 38. The minimum age limit for the exam is 18. Candidates who don't fit the UTET age requirements won't be allowed to take the examination.

  • Minimum Age Limit - 18 Years.

Note: Applicants who fall within the "reserved category" receive a 5% relaxation.
