TNTET Eligibility is the basic criteria a candidate must meet to apply for the exam. The eligibility is declared by the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) Tamil Nadu. TNTET Eligibility criteria for Paper 1

Minimum Qualifications for TNTET Paper 1 (for classes 1st to 6th):

1. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) Or

2. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. Or

3. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). Or

4. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). Or

5. Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). Or

6. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)

TN TET Eligibility Criteria for Paper 2

Candidates who wish to apply as teachers for classes 6th to 8th in government schools of Tamil Nadu can apply for paper 2. It is important to check the complete TNTET Paper 2 eligibility criteria before applying for the vacancies under paper 2. Check the eligibility criteria below:

TNTET Paper 2 Education Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualifications for TNTET Paper 2 (for classes 6th - 8th).

1. Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). Or

2. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). Or

3. Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations. Or

4. Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). Or

5. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed. Or

6. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of B.Ed. (Special Education). Or

7. Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. the programme, recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET. Moreover, as per existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11.02.2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET.

TNTET Age Limit

TNTET Eligibility 2022: Nationality Criteria

There is no particular detail mentioned in the TNTET 2022 eligibility criteria for the nationality criteria of a candidate applying for the exam.
