TNTET Exam 2022

TNTET 2022 is a Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test conducted to recruit deserving aspirants as teachers in government schools of Tamil Nadu. The TNTET exam 2022 consists of two papers. Paper 1 is for candidates interested to teach primary classes from class 1st to 5th and paper 2 is for candidates interested to teach secondary classes from class 6th to 8th. TNTET Paper 1 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to apply for paper 1 exam must check the eligibility Primary Level Teachers Minimum Qualification Requirement. Paper 1 is for candidates who wish to teach classes from 1st to 5th. The TNTET 2022 eligibility for paper 1 is as below:

TNTET 2022 Paper 1 Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% scores and passed or appeared in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (or)
  • Graduation with minimum 50% aggregate marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.,) (or) 
  • Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 45% score and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year diploma in Elementary Education by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002 (or)
  • Candidate should have a certificate of Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) (or)
  • Candidates must hold a degree of Graduation and pass or appear in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

TNTET Paper 2 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to opt for paper 2 exam must check paper 2 eligibility. The detailed Upper Primary Level Teachers Minimum Qualification Requirement is mentioned here. TNTET 2022 Paper 2 Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must have a graduation degree and are appearing or have passed a 2-year diploma in elementary education (or)
  • candidate must be a Graduate with a minimum score of 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of B.Ed (or)
  • Candidate should have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% score and have passed or appearing in the final year of B.El.Ed. (or)
  • Candidates should be graduation degree holders with a minimum of 50% marks and pass or appear in the final year of B.Ed. can also apply for TNTET 2022 (or)
  • The candidate who is a Graduation degree holder with the least 45% marks can apply for the TNTET 2022. The candidates who have qualified or appearing in the final year of B.Ed. are also eligible to apply (or)
  • Any candidate who has qualified B.Ed. The program, affiliated with the NCTE, is eligible to appear in TNTET 2022.
  • Note: There is no upper age limit for Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) 2022 test. The candidates must be at least 18 years of age.

TNTET Selection Process 2022

The TNTET selection process 2022 involves two rounds. The first round involves written examinations, and the second round involves a personal interview. The written examination for the TNTET exam process comprises 2 papers, namely Paper 1 and Paper 2. All the candidates who want to apply as a teacher for classes 1st to 5th will have to sit for Paper 1. All the candidates who want to apply as a teacher for classes 6th to 8th will have to sit for Paper 2.

All the candidates who want to apply for the position of teacher for classes 1st to 8th under TNTET 2022 will have to sit for both papers. Only when a candidate qualifies for the written examination he/she is called for a personal interview. If the candidate clears this segment of the selection process, he shall receive the appointment letter after the mandatory document verification process.
