1. BSTET Eligibility Criteria: Exam for 9th & 10th (Secondary Level)
i ) The candidate should be the citizen of India and a resident of the state of Bihar.
ii) A Candidate qualifying the guidelines laid by the Bihar Municipal body/Zilla Parishad Secondary and Higher Secondary Teacher Employment Rules, 2006 (from time to time and revised) can be eligible for the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test, 2019 for the post of Secondary teacher/Higher secondary teacher.
iii) For the subjects specified under Paper-1, a candidate must have a Bachelor's degree and B.Ed degree in the specified subject with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university. Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Backward Classes/Extremely Backward Classes and Differently-abled will be given 5% relaxation in the minimum prescribed marks.
iv) In Sanskrit and Urdu subjects, Shastri and Alim degrees awarded by the state government recognized board/committee will be considered as equivalent to graduation.
v) An Engineering graduate with specialization in Science and Mathematics and holding B.Ed. degree under National Council of Teacher Education (Recognition Criteria and Methodology) Regulations 2014, the candidates can appear in the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test 2019 under Paper-1 for the secondary teacher of Science and Mathematics subject.
vi) M.A. (Edn.) subject will not be considered equivalent to B. Ed.
2. BSTET Eligibility Criteria: Exam for 11th & 12th (Senior Secondary Level)
i ) The candidate should be the citizen of India and a resident of the state of Bihar.
ii) A Candidate qualifying the guidelines laid by the Bihar Municipal body/Zilla Parishad Secondary and Higher Secondary Teacher Employment Rules, 2006 (from time to time and revised) can be eligible for the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test, 2019 for the post of Secondary teacher/Higher secondary teacher.
iii) A postgraduate degree and B. Ed degree with a minimum of 50% marks from a university recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC).
- B.Ed. qualification is not compulsory for the candidates of Computer Science subject.
- Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Extremely Backward Classes/Backward Classes and Differently-abled will be given 5% relaxation in the minimum prescribed marks.
iv) M.A. (Edn.) subject will not be considered equivalent to B. Ed.
BSTET Age Limit Criteria:
1. The minimum age limit of the candidates to appear in the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test, 2019 will be 21 years as on 01. 08. 2019.
- Differently abled candidates will be given 10 years relaxation in the maximum age limit.
2. The maximum age limit of the category candidates as determined from time to time by the General Administration Department will be as follows:-
