NIEC Delhi Admission Criteria 2021

Simply taking straightforward entrance tests like CAT and CMAT aren't sufficient to be eligible for admission into MBA programmes in institutes across India. There are certain requirements that need to be fulfilled by the candidates prior to taking these MBA entrance examinations.

Below is a list of admission criteria common across most of the universities/colleges.

  • A minimum of 50% aggregate score on any recognized Bachelor's course of 3 years or higher duration.
  • Many universities recognize reservations for SC/ST/OBC and allow a relaxation of 5%, making this score a 45% aggregate minimum.
  • Depending on the rank of the MBA college chosen, the MBA admission eligibility criteria may be as high as 60% aggregate score on Bachelors.
  • If you choose to apply for Executive MBA programmes, a work experience of a minimum of 2 years may also need to be shown.
  • A valid score on any national or university level entrance examination for MBA admission is required.

NIEC Delhi Admission Process 2021

The NIEC Delhi admission procedure for most of the universities is roughly the same, with some reputed institutes requiring an additional step or two sometimes. However, in most cases, you should be able to secure admission after qualifying for the following four phases of the MBA admission process 2021.

  • Phase I.
    Taking a national/state/university level entrance examination and securing a good %ile score that clears the stipulated cutoff for the university you are targeting. This includes exams like CAT, CMAT, ATMA, GMAT, MAT, SNAP, etc.
  • Phase II
    Apply for admissions to the universities you are targeting. Wait for the shortlist to be displayed to see if you have been selected.
  • Phase III
    Appear for Written Aptitude Tests (WAT), group discussions and personal interviews at the respective universities.
  • Phase IV
    If you qualify for all the above rounds, you will be invited for counselling at the universities you have been accepted into.

NIEC Delhi (MBA) College Admission FAQs

  • NIEC Delhi Admission is conducted in four phases - entrance test, application, shortlisting and WAT/GD/PI. If the candidate qualifies in all four stages, admission is given.

  • The priority for admission would be given to CAT and CMAT scores based on merit to fill the 120 seats for the MBA programme in NIEC Delhi. If the seats are left over, the difference would then be filled based on the IPU CET score.

  • Shortlisting process is online, but counselling is done on-premises. Masks and sanitisers are mandatory. Counselling is conducted in large auditoriums with appropriate social distancing.

  • The last date for submitting online admission applications was 31st July 2021. You can read the circular here.

  • NIEC Delhi accepts valid scores of CAT, CMAT and IPU CET.
