MH CET Eligibility Criteria for MBA

  • The basic requirements in MBA CET Eligibility are that the candidates need to complete their Bachelor's Degree in any stream with at least 50% (45% for reserve category) in aggregate from any UGC/ AIU (Association of Indian Universities) recognized University
  • Final-year students are also eligible for applying MBA CET Exam provisionally. But they need to submit proof of their education during MBA CET Counselling.
  • The candidates must be Indian Nationals to clear the MBA CET Eligibility Criteria. The minimum age should be 21 years. There are no specifications for the upper MAH CET Age Limit.

MH CET MBA Eligibility Criteria 2023 for Maharashtra State

The candidates have more opportunities and chances of admission to top MBA colleges in Maharashtra if they fulfil MBA CET Eligibility 2023. As per MH CET MBA Eligibility Criteria for Maharashtra, the candidates are further divided into 4 types: Type A, Type B, Type C, and Type D. Candidature Type

MBA CET Eligibility Criteria In Maharashtra

Type A

The candidates must qualify for HSC (High School Certificate) and a qualifying exam from Maharashtra state.

You did not pass HSC from Maharashtra but you have a Diploma in Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy and any other qualifying examination from Maharashtra State.

The candidates are domiciled or born in the State of Maharashtra. This should be mentioned while registering for MBA CET 2023.

Type B

The Father/Mother of the candidates must be a domicile in the State of Maharashtra.

The candidates have lived in Maharashtra for the past 3 years.

Type C

Either of your parents (Father or Mother) is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and is posted and reporting in Maharashtra State before the last date for application submission.

Type D

In case your Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of Maharashtra/Government of Maharashtra Undertaking and is posted in some other state for some time.

MBA CET Eligibility Criteria for Other State Students

All Indian National candidates, who do not fall under any of the types reserved for Maharashtra, will be categorized in this segment. Below is some important information about MBA CET Eligibility 2023 for candidates who are staying outside of the state boundary of Maharashtra. You have to fulfil any of these below MH CET Eligibility Criteria for MBA to become eligible for this exam.

  • The candidates must pass the HSC examination and the Bachelor's Degree from a college located outside Maharashtra state affiliated to any University which is neither in the Maharashtra State nor satisfying any of the conditions stated in Type A, B, C, D of Maharashtra candidature above as regards to parent's status.
  • The candidates must pass the HSC examination from a school in Maharashtra and the Bachelor's Degree from a college located outside Maharashtra state affiliated to S.N.D.T. Women's University and not satisfying any of the conditions stated in, i.e., Type B, C, D of MS above as regards to parent's status.

MBA CET Eligibility for J&K and Ladakh Migrants

  • The candidates must be the child of the Indian Citizen who is displaced from the state of Jammu and Kashmir, and UT of Ladakh to any state of India from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities to be eligible for CET MBA 2023.
  • The candidates must be children of any IFS, IPS, IAS officers, military, and parliamentary staff who have got transferred to the Jammu Kashmir and UT of Ladakh on or before the last date of form submission.
  • The candidates must be the child of Jammu and Kashmir and UT of Ladakh Police.

MH CET Eligibility Criteria for MBA: Minority Candidature

Only the candidates with the state domicile of Maharashtra, who belong to the particular religion as well as linguistics communities within the state boundary of Maharashtra, are eligible for admission to the B-schools under minority candidature as per the MBA CET Eligibility 2023.

MBA CET Eligibility 2023 for PWD

MH State Entrance Test Cell has prescribed a special reservation for PwD candidates. A person with a disability has to score 40% marks in aggregate in their Bachelor's Degree. As per the official update of MBE CET Eligibility 2023, there are 3 categories for PwD candidates:

  • PH-1: Visually impaired candidates (blind - P1)
  • PH-2: Speech & hearing-impaired candidates (dumb and deaf - P2)

The candidates, who are applying under this category must submit their PwD Certificate in a prescribed format (Proforma - F). It should be issued by Director, All India Institute of Physically Handicapped, Mumbai of the Dean/Civil Surgeon of the Government/Civil Hospitals at District Headquarters.

MBA CET Eligibility Criteria for NRI/PIO/OCI/FN

Candidates who are not Indian Nationals can apply under the NRI category. The categorization of the candidates under this candidature, including NRI, PIO, OCI, and FN, has been defined in the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions Act, 2015. The aspirants also need to fulfil the below MBA CET Eligibility Criteria 2023 for the upcoming exam.

  • The candidates must pass Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum 3 Years) from any UGC or AIU recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

MH CET MBA Eligibility Criteria for Counselling

DTE (Directorate of Technical Education), Maharashtra will execute several rounds of MAH CET MBA Counselling or CAP. The candidates who have appeared for any other exam, except MBE CET 2023, need to register as fresh users for the CAP process. Additionally, all the candidates qualified for counselling need to provide original documents for verification.

MBA CET Eligibility for Outside State Candidates

The candidates must score at least 30 marks in the state MBA Entrance Exams.

The candidates must have a valid score for any MBA entrance exams, including XAT/CAT/MAT/AIMA entrance exams.

The aspirants need to appear in the GDPI round for the final selection process, conducted by DTE Maharashtra.

It is necessary to appear in the further selection round, i.e., GDPI, for the final allotment process, conducted by DTE Maharashtra.

MBA CET Reservation Policy

As per the official update for the MBA CET Eligibility Criteria, the candidates belonging to the backward class categories have a special reservation for admission into MAH CET MBA 2023. This is only applicable to the candidates who have domiciled in the state of Maharastra. The candidates only need to submit the below documents while filing the registration form.

  • 'Caste Certificate' issued by the Executive Magistrate/Metropolitan Magistrate in Maharashtra;
  • 'Caste Validity Certificate' issued by the Scrutiny Committee of the Social Welfare Department;
  • 'Tribe Validity Certificate' issued by the Scrutiny Committee of the Tribal Department; and or

The candidates belonging to the following categories are benefitted from the MBE CET Reservation 2023.

  • Scheduled Tribes, including those living outside specified areas
  • Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Castes Converted to Buddhism
  • Vimukta Jati & Denotified Tribes (VJ/DT) or NT(A)
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Special Backward Classes (SBC)
  • Nomadic Tribes– 1 (NT-B), 2 (NT-C), and 3 (NT-D)
  • Physically disabled candidates are divided into three categories. Those are PH-1 (visually impaired blind candidates - P1; PH-2 (dumb and deaf candidates - P2; PH-3 (candidates with orthopaedic disorders and learning disabilities, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, spastic - P3.

  • Yes, as per the official update, the candidates who are staying outside of Maharashtra are also eligible to appear in MBA CET 2023. The basic criteria for outside-state candidates are as follow:

    • The candidates must complete HSC and Bachelor’s Degree Program from any college outside Maharashtra.
    • Additionally, you must not fulfil any criteria related to the candidates belonging to the state of Maharashtra.
  • As per the official update, there are no distinct criteria for MBA CET Age Limit. There is no upper age limit to appear for this exam. The main criteria for MBA CET Eligibility are the candidates' need to complete their Bachelor’s Degree in any stream. 

  • The basic criteria for  MBA CET Eligibility are that the candidates need to complete their Bachelor’s Degree in any stream with at least 50% in aggregate (45% for reserve category) from any UGC/ AIU (Association of Indian Universities) recognized University.

  • If the aspiring candidate has a valid CAT score, it is not required to appear for MAH CET MBA 2023. They only need to appear GDPI round for the final allotment process conducted by DTE Maharashtra.

  • As per the official update, the final year students and students awaiting the final result are also eligible to apply for MAH MBA CET. But they have to show their result within the stipulated time, as it is necessary to have 50% marks in aggregate.
