IIM Tiruchirappalli Admission 2022-24

IIM Tiruchirappalli is conducting CAP 2022. The two-year full-time PGPM is the flagship programme of IIM Tiruchirappalli. CAT 2021 exam was held on 28th November and the CAT 2021 results were declared on 3rd January 2022.

IIM Tiruchirappalli Admission 2022-24:

For this year, IIM Tiruchirappalli has excluded WAT from CAP due to the ongoing pandemic.

IIM Trichy Selection Criteria considers CAT and PI as its primary parameters to create the final shortlist and delegates a weightage of 50% and 25%, respectively. Some other parameters for the shortlisting for PGPM Admission 2022 are -

  • Verbal Comprehension (CAT)
  • Work experience
  • Performance in the qualifying degree
  • Gender diversity

IIM Trichy also offers PGPBM in its Chennai Campus, DPM and EDPM programmes. Shortlisting for PGPBM and EDPM is based on two parameters, Written Test and PI. Admission to DPM depends on the score obtained in entrance exams, including CAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE/UGC-JRF. The next stage comprises domain-specific Interviews and PI with DPM Committee.

The final selection to the PGPM programme at IIM Tiruchirappalli is based on CAT score, Academic Profile, Performance in PI, Work Experience and Diversity. 

Aspirants who appear for the IIM Trichy Admission Test must satisfy a set of criteria for the PGPM/PGPM-HR programme, which includes -

PGPM (Post Graduate Programme in Management)/PGPM-HR (Post Graduate Programme in Human Resources)

  • The candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)] awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or must possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
  • Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. The candidates are required to have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent till the latest examination

Criteria for shortlisting candidates for PI:

Due to the COVID-19 situation, the Written Ability Test (WAT) Process has been excluded from the CAP 2022 Process. Moreover, the PI (Personal Interview)round will be conducted in online mode. However, the exact dates for the PI round has not been announced by IIM Tiruchirappalli. Here is the minimum overall percentile requirement for different category students to get shortlisted for the PI and WAT process .

[UG performance score = (per cent score at UG * discipline weightage) * 0.05]

To encourage diversity in the batch, differential weightage, as shown below, shall be applied to different disciplines:

  • Engineering / Technology: 0.7
  • Arts / Science (including Pharmacy) / Commerce / Economics / Management / other disciplines: 1.0

PGPM and PGPM-HR:

To apply for PGPM and PGPM-HR programmes, aspirants must register for CAT and submit the application form. Check out the complete application process below -

  1. Visit the official website of CAT
  2. Select New Registration.
  3. Fill up the necessary details and enter a valid email and contact number.
  4. Applicants will be allotted a user ID and password for future use.
  5. Type in the OTP and select Validate OTP.
  6. Submit after typing the Captcha Code.
  7. Select the “I Agree” option and submit your CAT application form.
  8. After submission, you will receive a message on your registered mobile number, which mentions your User ID and your password.
  9. After completing the process of CAT Registration, a unique login ID and password will get generated.
  10. Keep these credentials noted and saved on your device to fill the CAT Application Form.

  • 210 seats are allotted for admissions to the management courses offered by IIM Trichy. Overall, 434 students got admitted to different programmes offered at IIM Tiruchirappalli in 2020.

  • In the PGPM admission process of 2022, IIM Tiruchirappalli held a 5% weightage during the final shortlisting of candidates who had prior work experience. Going through the batch profile of 2019-2021, 31% of shortlisted candidates had 0-11 months of work experience. The other 69% had work experience ranging from 12-36+ months. Therefore, work experience will act as an influential parameter in the final shortlisting process.

  • Some relevant dates for the admission process at IIM Tiruchirappalli are given below-
