IIM Jammu has a well-defined curriculum that focuses on the training and developing skills necessary for a successful career in the industry. Apart from classroom learning, students undergo rigorous training in group projects, case studies, business simulations, and role-plays, apart from valuable work experience gained during the summer internships and final placement drives.

The institute has state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities such as an online library with over 2,000 titles and 30,000 volumes; a fully automated investment lab; fully functional computerized classrooms; well-equipped labs for operations research and analytics; an international conference hall; cafeteria, and residential facilities to host guests and corporate visitors; high-end hostel facilities with sports and recreational facilities.

Students are trained to communicate their ideas during group discussions and presentations effectively. The case teaching method is used to develop students' problem-solving skills, who are also taught how to effectively present their ideas before a client or a board of directors.

The Placement Cell, IIM-Jammu, has been highly proactive in its approach towards the job placements of its students. The team at the cell has streamlined the entire recruitment process and continuously strives to improve upon it.

The institute offers three-year full-time Post Graduate Programmes for candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree courses from any recognized university. The courses offered are primarily intended for high-potential candidates who have demonstrated an aptitude for business analysis and decision-making. Aspiring students need to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT).

Students can choose from various specializations, including Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Finance Management, Operation Management, and Information Systems. The curriculum is designed to cover almost all aspects of management and entrepreneurship to provide a solid foundation for the students.

The Placement Cell of IIM-Jammu is headed by the Placement Officer, assisted by the Assistant Placement Officer. The Placement Cell has a well-organized office to coordinate with the companies and students towards achieving an efficient placement process.

The survey done by IIM Jammu reveals that top placements are happening in the consulting sector, which is entirely consistent with previous years. The winning sectors are Consulting & General Management and Education and Ed-tech sector this year, and they have retained their positions from last year.

The students are provided with ample opportunity to network with the recruiters and interact with them. These interactions help the students get selected by the companies and give them an insight into the functioning of various organizations. The Placement Cell also organizes mock interviews, group discussions, and workshops to prepare the students for their interviews.

The placement process spans three phases, namely, pre-placement offers, campus placement, and final placement.

Pre Placement Offers (PPOs):

The Placement Cell has tied up with leading corporates for conducting PPOs for post-graduate students. The duration of these PPOs ranges from one week to one month, depending on the industry requirement and availability of slots by the companies. The PPOs are generally conducted during December or January after the semester exams are over.

Campus Placements:

The first phase of campus recruitment is handled by the Career Development Centre (CDC). CDC helps final year students prepare for their interviews through workshops, mock interviews, etc. CDC also helps first-year students prepare for their interviews during summer internships/projects/case studies, etc. Students are tested on various parameters like aptitude, fitment, etc.
