Your reading exercise is impeded if you do not understand the meaning of a word, or it's meaning in a given context. Such challenges could be overcome by inculcating a sound habit of reading.     a. appear to be or do something, especially falsely. (Verb)
    b. the meaning or sense of something, typically a document or speech. (Noun)
  • Synonyms: claim, profess, pretend, gist, intention, purpose
  • Antonyms: abandon, disavow, disclaim, disown
  • Usage in a sentence:
    a. do you purport to spend the rest of your life on that couch, or do you think you might get a job someday? (Verb)
