The Initiative came into existence as a partnership between the Niti Aayog of India and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

The revolutionary SAMRIDH Initiative blended finance facility, created by the Indian government, academia, and the business sector in 2020, combines public and philanthropic money with commercial capital to produce and rapidly scale market-based health solutions.
