The 12th Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was dissolved by the Governor on 21 November 2018. Prior to that, there were 87 MLAs in Jammu and Kashmir who were a part of the bicameral legislature of J&K. After the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, the number of MLA seats in Jammu and Kashmir was increased to 90.

Jammu and Kashmir MLA
The MLAs in Jammu and Kashmir were a part of the bicameral legislature of the state of J&K. However, after 2019 when the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act was introduced, the state was reorganized into a union territory. The existing legislature and MLAs in Jammu and Kashmir were dissolved and a unicameral legislature was created.
Following the Act, new Assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir were announced by the government. Here are all the details one must know about the same.
- Three new seats were added to the Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) of Jammu and Kashmir, making the total number of seats 90.
- Out of the 90 seats, 47 seats are in the Kashmir division and 43 seats are in the Jammu division.
12th Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir (Now Dissolved)
