How Many Chhattisgarh Districts
Chhattisgarh has 33 districts in total. These districts are headed by the District Magistrate, with the assistance of a Superintendent of Police, and the state police force. Here is some more information about the Chhattisgarh districts
- When Chhattisgarh was formed on 1 November 2000, there were only 16 districts in the state.
- On 11 May 2007, the districts of Bijapur and Narayanpur were carved out.
- On 1 Jan 2012, nine new districts of Chhattisgarh were formed.
- On 10 February 2020, the district of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi was established.
- In September 2022, five new Chhattisgarh districts were established, namely, Manpur-Mohla, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh and Manendragarh and Sakti.
- The latest district of Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai was added on 3 September 2022.
