Kunchikal Falls

At 455 metres or 1493 feet, the highest waterfall in India is the Kunchikal Falls near Agumbe in the Shimoga district of Karnataka. This magnificent waterfall is fed by the Varahi River. Agumbe experiences extremely heavy rainfall, and you will find India's only permanent rain forest research station here. 

Barehipani Falls

Located at the Simlipal National Park at Mayurbhanj in Orissa, this waterfall is a favourite of nature lovers and trekkers. At 399 meters or 1309 feet, the second-highest waterfall in India can be found on the Budhabalanga River.

Nohkalikai Falls

The third-highest waterfall in India can be found near Cherapunji in the East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya, and falls 340 metres or 1115 feet. 

Nohsngithiang Falls

Also located in the East Khasi Hills District of Meghalaya, Nohsngithiang Falls is in the fourth position and stands at a height of 315 meters or 1033 feet. 

Dudhsagar Falls

The tourist destination Goa is home to the fifth-highest waterfall in India, the Dudhsagar Falls, with a height of 310 meters or 1020 feet. 

Kynrem Falls

The Kynrem Falls in the East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya, is at the sixth position and stands at 305 meters or 1001 feet. 

Meenmutty Falls

You will find the seventh-highest waterfall in India, the Meenmutty Falls, in Wayanad District, Kerala. It measures 300 metres or 980 feet and is the most spectacular waterfall in the region. 

Thalaiyar Falls

At 297 meters or 974 feet, the Thalaiyar Falls located in Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu is in the eighth position and is known for its dark caves. Accessing it by road is difficult.
