The first airport in India is known as the Juhu Aerodrome. Located in Juhu, Mumbai, the Juhu Aerodrome was founded in 1928. In 1932, JRD Tata landed at the airport for the first time and inaugurated the country's first scheduled commercial mail (airmail) service. The airport now handles all helicopter services to and from Mumbai. Additionally, the aerodrome is also the site of the prestigious Bombay Flying Club.
