Child Development and Pedagogy:

Child Development and Pedagogy is the common subject for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Child Development and Pedagogy is a theoretical subject. Overall the level of the questions was of moderate level. Broadly, Child Development and Pedagogy are divided into two parts:

  • 15 questions will be asked from Child Development
  • 15 questions from Pedagogy

Child Development:  Distribution of questions

(i) Child Development (Primary School Child): 15 Questions

You need to study more about thinkers and their ideologies in this section. The questions were mainly based on the ideology and Principles of Thinkers.

(ii) The concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with special needs: 5 Questions

In this section, you need to focus more on the special attributes for special children. Most of the questions are based on the teacher's behavior in the case of the special child.

(iii) Learning and Pedagogy: 10 Questions

Here, mainly the questions are derived from the pedagogy of child behavior.

Highlights of Pattern and Level Changes as Compared to Last Year

Many changes take place in Pattern & difficulty level from the previous year. Some important changes are as follows.
  • The difficulty level of questions has increased from easy to moderate.
  • The number of practical and pedagogy questions increased as compared to last year.
  • So this year, you need to focus more on pedagogy and practical question. 

Tips to Secure Good Marks in Child Development

  • Practice/Attempt Child development & Pedagogy Mock test
    There are many mock tests available online. Try to attempt them as much as possible. The more you solve them, the more confident you will get.
  • Revise previous year's question papers
    Revise past year's question papers as possible. That will give you an idea of what to expect in the exam. CTET repeats questions often, so the practice of question paper gives you a fair idea about the paper pattern and the level of questions.
  • Focus thinkers ideology & Theories
    The Child Development section prepares thinkers' thoughts and Theories because many questions ask about these topics. 
  • Attempt all the questions
