Understanding the psychology of the child and the provision of teaching-learning difficulties and overcoming them is called child-centred teaching. That boy's interests, trends, and taking into account the capabilities to provide child-centred education is called education. Emphasis is given to teaching in child-centred teaching work personally. The child's inspection is, what his daily attempts to overcome the difficulties are. Child-centred teaching based on the physical and mental abilities of the child decides the development of the child's behaviour and personality disorder symptoms like intellectual impairment, problem child, patient, child, etc. delinquent child is diagnosed.

Child-Centred Teaching Theory:

  • Emphasis on learning by doing – hands-on projects, expeditionary learning, experiential learning
  • Integrated curriculum focused on thematic units
  • Integration of entrepreneurship into education
  • Strong emphasis on problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Group work and development of social skills
  • Understanding and action as the goals of learning as opposed to rote knowledge
  • According to the child's abilities and interests to choose subjects
  • Teaching through creative tasks such as handmade arts
  • The teaching course is divided into pieces

Format & Course of Child-Centered Education: 

Student-centred learning, also known as learner-centred education, broadly encompasses methods of teaching that shift the focus of instruction from the teacher to the student. In original usage, student-centred learning aims to develop learner autonomy and independence by putting responsibility for the learning path in the hands of students.

  • The courses must be vital,
  • The curriculum should be based on knowledge
  • Courses should be in the interests of children
  • The curriculum should be flexible
  • The course should be according to the environment
  • The course should develop national feelings
  • The course should base on the need of society
  • The course should be according to the mental level of children
  • The course should be Educational Purpose

Concept of Progressive Education:

Progressive education is a reaction against the traditional style of teaching. It's a pedagogical movement that values experience over learning facts at the expense of understanding what is being taught. When you examine the teaching styles and curriculum of the 19th century, you understand why certain enlightened educators decided that there had to be a better way

  • Education for social responsibility and democracy
  • Highly personalized learning accounting for each individual's personal goals
  • Integration of community service and service-learning projects into the daily curriculum
  • Selection of subject content by looking forward to asking what skills will be needed in the future society
  • De-emphasis on textbooks in favour of varied learning resources
  • Emphasis on lifelong learning and social skills
  • Assessment by evaluation of child's projects and productions.
