Reading editorial is a good practice as it provides a bundle of information that is generally not found in textbooks. While reading the editorial over key issues, it is important to make short notes out of it. It can be revised later so that an aspirant’s knowledge and opinion can be enriched and balanced, to be reflected in written answers later.
Disclaimer: Not every editorial is important for UPSC CSE, please restrict keeping the UPSC Syllabus as the benchmark. For those who do not wish to read editorials, it is completely fine, get hold of ongoing issues and the underlying critical concepts through platforms like Rajya Sabha TV debates videos, Interview of Senior bureaucrats etc.
