UNESCO Global Geopark plays an important role in protecting our geological and natural heritage. As UNESCO heritage recognition and resources can greatly help preserve the cultural heritage of any country, India needs to take additional steps to ensure the inclusion of heritage sites as part of this program.

The Indian Government and other agencies also need to promote and value India’s incredible cultural heritage, one of the most diverse and abundant globally.
