CTET 2021 Exam Pattern
Important Highlights
- CTET includes two examinations, different for paper-I and paper-II.
- The mode of examination will be online i.e, CBT (Computer Based Test) mode.
- The examination type will be multiple choice questions and will include 4 options with only 1 correct option.
- The language of the paper will be in Hindi and English and candidates can choose any language.
- Paper-I includes 5 subjects which have a total of 150 questions of one mark each.
- Paper-II also includes 5 subjects and a choice between science & maths and social science. A total of 150 questions will be asked and one mark will be awarded for each correct answer.
- There is no negative marking in CTET.
- The examination will be of 150 minutes

Note: Mathematics and Science for Maths and Science teachers (Science Background students). Social Science is for Social Science teachers (Art Background students).
The difference in paper-1 and paper-2 syllabus
- CTET Paper-I has 5 sections which include 30 questions of 30 marks each in each section
- CTET Paper-II has 4 sections where the number of questions is 30. and 1 section of 60 marks which will be the social science or science & mathematics section.
Nature and standard of CTET Dec 2021 questions
• The questions of Child Development and Pedagogy will be focused on the educational psychology of teaching and learning. It will be relevant to the children of 6-11 years. They will concentrate on learning the characters and requirements of various learners,
• The questions in Language-I will be direct proficiencies related to the medium of education, communication with learners and the characteristics and features of a good facilitator of learning.
• The questions in Language II will direct to the elements of language, conversation and comprehension skills.
• Language II and Language I cannot be the same. A candidate may choose any one language as Language I and other as Language II from the available language options and will be required to define the same in the Confirmation Page.
• The questions in Mathematics and Environmental Studies section will be based on the concepts, problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding and applications of the subjects. The questions of the following area will be evenly divided over several sections of the syllabus of that subject prescribed for classes I-V by the NCERT.
• The questions in Paper I will cover the syllabus of the NCERT for classes I-V but their difficulty level as well as linkages, can go up to the Secondary stage.
