###ANSWERS###
1. Ans. A. Robert Hooke, an English philosopher discovered cells in 1665 in his self designed microscope. He was examining a thin slice of the cork when he saw that it resembled a structure of a honeycomb made up of many little compartments. He names these compartments cell.
2. Ans. D. Electron was discovered by J. J. Thompson. Electrons are the first sub-atomic particle discovered which proved the fact that atoms are actually divisible. The name electron was given by George Johnstone Stoney.
3. Ans. B.
4. Ans. A. Viral diseases are measles, chickenpox hepatitis, polio, mumps, AIDS, influenza etc. Bacteria disease is typhoid, tuberculosis, leprosy, tetanus etc. Protozoans disease include malaria, kala-azar, sleeping sickness etc.
5. Ans. B. Objects which are capable of emitting their own light are known as luminous objects, for example, sun, candle, torch, etc. Moon does not emit its own light, it reflects the light of the sun.
6. Ans. B. When the copper vessel is exposed to moist air it acquires a dull green colour coating. The green material is a mixture of copper hydroxide ( Cu(OH)2) and copper carbonate (CuCO3). The following is the reaction 2Cu+H2O+CO2+O2→Cu (OH)2 + CuCO3. The layer is basically due to the formation of the oxide layer in presence of moisture.
7. Ans. D. The atoms oxygen, nitrogen and chlorine exist in diatomic molecules, i.e., these atoms exist in pairs to form their molecule. Phosphorous element exists as a tetra-atomic molecule, i.e., four phosphorous atoms combine to form one molecule of phosphorous.
8. Ans. D. Sun appears red at Sunset due.
9. Ans. A. Climbing Root is formed in Betel vine. Climbing roots arising from nodes attach themselves to some support and climb over it; another example: money plant.
10. Ans. D. The ecosystem is a community of living organism in association with non-living organisms of their system, interacting as a system. Lakes, Ponds and forest are the natural ecosystems while as the garden is a manmade ecosystem
