C. 75
D. 56
###ANSWERS###
1. Ans. C. Total cost of things bought by A=Rs(255+252+273)=Rs 780
A has twenty 50 Rupee note=20X50=Rs 1000
Hence, remains money=Rs(1000-780)=Rs 220.
2. Ans. D. Let the income of Shyam be 100
Then the income of Ram = 100 + 30% of 100 = 100 + 30 = Rs 130
It is clear that Shyam’s income is Rs 100 and it is Rs 30 less than Ram’s income
So, the required percentage =
3. Ans. A. 4 years ago,
Ram’s age = 5x years
Rakesh’s age = 6x
According to the question,
5x + 4 + 6x + 4 = 52
11x = 52 – 8 = 44
x =
Required ratio
= (5x + 4) : (6x + 4)
= (5 × 4 + 4) : (6 × 4 + 4)
= 24 : 28 = 6 : 7
4. Ans. B. Selling price = 1200 ×
= 1200 ×
= Rs 1020
5. Ans. A. Let the numbers be a, b and c. Then
a : b = 3 : 4
b : c = 5 : 4
a : b : c = 3 × 5 : 4 × 5 : 4 × 4 = 15 : 20 : 16
Let the number be 15x, 20x and 16x
15x + 20x + 16x = 153
51x = 153
x = 3
Third number = 16x = 16 × 3 = 48
6. Ans. C. Remaining amount = Rs (14000 – 5000)
= Rs 9000
SI =
=
= Rs 1800
Total amount paid
= Rs (14000 + 1800)
Rs 15,800
7. Ans. C. Let the smallest number is x then
x + (x + 2) + (x + 4) + ….. + (x + 16) = 549
or, 9x + 72 = 549
or, x + 8 = 61
or, x = 53
Second smallest number = 53 + 2 = 55
Second largest number = 53 + 14 = 67
Required difference =
8. Ans. A. Since the train runs at of its own speed, the time it takes is of its usual speed.
Let the usual time taken be t hours.
Then we can write,
t =
t = 30 hrs
Hence, time saved = 44 – 30 = 14 hours
9. Ans. A. Part of the tank filled in 1 min =
So, filled part in 5 min =
Now the efficiency of tap B has become then tap B will fill the tank completely in 30 ×
Part of the tank filled by tap a and B in 1 min =
A and B will fill the tank in
So, rest part =
To fill part it will take min more
Required time = 5 +
10. Ans. C. When a solid is melted to form solid of another shape, their volume does not change.
Volume of original cuboid = 30 × 45 × 60
The volume of new smaller cuboid = 6 × 12 × 15
If total number of smaller cuboids be x then (6 × 12 × 15) x = 30 × 45 × 60
Or, x =
