Why in News:
- Global Findex Database 2021 released by World Bank.
key points:
- The World Bank's Global Findex database surveyed how people in 123 economies use formal and informal financial services such as cards, ATMs, mobile phones, and the Internet.
- Globally, in 2021, 76 percent of adults had an account with a bank or regulated institution such as a credit union, microfinance institution, or mobile money service provider, according to the report.
- According to the Global Findex Database 2021, mobile money has become a key enabler of financial inclusion – especially for women.
- According to the report, India has low access to formal banking and a lack of trust.
- Drop-in Frauds and Leakage: The transition from cash to biometric smart cards has resulted in a 47% reduction in drop-in frauds in pension payments.

Odisha tops state ranking for implementation of the National Food Security Act
Why in News:
- The 'State Ranking Index for NFSA 2022' has been released by the Union Minister of Food and Consumer Affairs during a conference of State Food Ministers on 'Food and Nutrition Security of India'.
key points:
- Odisha ranks first in the state rankings, while Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh are ranked second and third respectively.
- Among the special category states (Northeast states, Himalayan states, and island states), Tripura has been ranked first, while Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim are in second and third places.
- As per the released index, most of the states and union territories have performed well, and most of the states and union territories have performed well in digitization, Aadhaar seeding, and EPOS installation.
- The ranking provided by the index will promote healthy competition among states under the NFSA, also known as the Food Act, under which the Center provides highly subsidized food grains to nearly 80 crore people.

- The ‘Pariksha Sangam’ portal has been launched by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

- All types of information issued by the school, regional offices, and the headquarters of CBSE for the students through the Pariksha Sangam portal will be made available in one place in this portal.
- The Pariksha Sangam portal will help in integrating the examination-related processes, which can be conducted by the regional offices of the schools and the headquarters of the CBSE Board.
- Pariksha Sangam portal will also help the students to check their 10th and 12th class board results easily.
- Pariksha Sangam Portal is a one-stop portal for all activities related to CBSE Board Exams.
- Pariksha Sangam Portal is categorized into three main sections: 1. School (Ganga) Section, 2. Regional Office (Yamuna) Section, 3. Head Office (Saraswati) Section.

- Attempts have been made by the Pasmanda community to attract the attention of many political parties for inclusive development and eradication of inter-caste discrimination.

- 'Pasmanda', a Persian word meaning "those who are left behind," is used for Muslims belonging to the Shudra (backward) and Ati-Shudra (Dalit) castes.
- Pasmanda includes people who are socially, educationally and economically backward and form the majority of the Muslim community in the country.
- The term "Pasmanda" is used by Muslim unions in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and other parts of India to define themselves as historically and socially oppressed Muslim communities by caste.
- The following communities are included in this including backward, Dalit, and tribal Muslim communities-

Mission Vatsalya Yojana

- Guidelines have been issued by the Ministry of Women and Child Development regarding “Mission Vatsalya Yojana” which will be applicable from 1st April 2022.

- A centrally sponsored scheme “Mission Vatsalya” i.e., Child Protection Service Scheme was started by the Ministry of Women and Child Development from the year 2009-10 for the welfare and rehabilitation of children.
- Mission Vatsalya aims at ensuring a healthy and happy childhood for every child in India, providing them opportunities to realize their full potential, supporting development in every field, and creating a sensitive, supportive, and syncretic ecosystem for them. - Set up the system.
- The main tasks of "Mission Vatsalya" include improving the functioning of constitutional bodies, strengthening the service delivery framework, increasing the standard of institutional care and services, promoting non-institutional community-based care, and providing emergency access training, training, and capacity building.
- “Mission Vatsalya” will be implemented as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme in accordance with the prescribed cost-sharing ratio between the Center and the State/UT Governments.

Mango Festival-2022

- Mango Festival-2022 in Uttar Pradesh has been organized in Lucknow from July 4-7.

- 700 varieties of mangoes and their by-products have been displayed at the convention.
- This festival has been organized with the aim of increasing the income of the farmers as well as increasing the production of mangoes.
- Mango Mahotsav-2022 aims to provide information about marketing strategies to farmers during the festival.
- India produces about 20.4 million tonnes of mangoes, which accounts for 65% of the global mango production, while Uttar Pradesh produces 4.5 million tonnes.
