  • The list of the richest self-made women billionaires in the world for 2022 was released by Hurun Research Institute. In the list of top 10, there are 8 Chinese women, 1 each from US and UK and 1 from India.

Key points:

  • Rupert Hoogewerf, also known by his Chinese name Hu Run, is the chairman and chief researcher of Hurun Report, a research, media and investments business, best known for its Hurun Rich List, a ranking of the wealthiest individuals in China.
  • Three Indian women Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw of Biocon, Falguni Nayar of Nykaa, and Radha Vembu of Zoho have been featured in the latest Hurun Richest Self-Made Women in the World 2022 (Hurun list of women self-made billionaires).
  • Wu Yajun, a Beijing-based property developer has topped this list.
  • CEO and Founder of Nykaa, Falguni Nayar with 7.6 billion dollars has been placed in the top 10 richest list.

New Chemical Reference Material

The National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL) has indigenously developed six new and rare Reference Materials (RMs), which are the purest form of chemical required for anti-doping analysis in all WADA-accredited laboratories across the world.

Key Points:

  • The RMs were launched by the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur during the 15th Governing Body Meeting of NDTL, in the presence of Sports Secretary Smt. Sujata Chaturvedi and other senior officials of the Sports Ministry.
  • Reference Materials (RMs) are the purest form of chemical required for anti-doping analysis.

About National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL):

  • The National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL) is a premier analytical testing & research organization established as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
  • It is the only laboratory in the country responsible for human sports dope testing.

 

Andhra Pradesh’s First ‘She Auto’ Stands Set Up

National Maritime Day 2022 observed on the 5th of April

  • India celebrates National Maritime Day every year on April 5. The convention of celebrating the day on April 5 is to recognise the sail of the first Indian commercial vessel of colonial India from Mumbai to London in the year 1919.

  • The commercial vessel was named SS Loyalty, which was owned by Scindia Steam Navigation Company Ltd.
  • India has a coastline that is 7,500 km long, on which the country has 12 major and over 200 non-major ports.
