The government of India launched the "One Nation One Fertilizer" program
Why in News:
- An order has been issued by the government to all businesses to market their goods under the brand name "Bharat" with an aim to standardize fertilizer brands across the country.
key points:
- Under the One Nation One Fertilizer Order, all public or private sector companies will sport the brand names “Bharat Urea,” “Bharat DAP,” “Bharat MOP,” and “Bharat NPK.”
- Fertilizer firms reacted negatively to One Nation One Fertilizer's decision, saying it would "destroy their brand value and market distinction."
- The decision of One Nation One Fertilizer can be detrimental to the fertilizer industry as it will help in establishing the company's reputation among the farmers along with branding the products.
- Fertilizer firms engage in a variety of expansion efforts, including field-level demonstrations, crop surveys, and other events where their brands are prominently displayed and help connect with farmers, under One Nation One Fertilizer.
- The new rules issued under One Nation One Fertilizer will be effective from October 2, 2022.
- Under One Nation One Fertilizer, companies have been given time till December 12 to remove all their previous bag designs from the market.

Nagaland gets its second railway station in 119 years

- With the completion of a new facility at Shokhuvi, the northeastern state of Nagaland now has a second railway station after a gap of more than 119 years.

- The Nagaland state's business district is home to the Dimapur Railway Station, which opened its doors in 1903.
- Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio flagged off the Donyi Polo Express at the Shokhuwi Railway Station during the day.
- The new train route has been expanded to Shokhuvi, which is currently a few kilometers away from Dimapur. The Donny Polo Express previously ran daily between Guwahati in Assam and Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh.
- With the extension of the Doni Polo Express up to Shokhuvi Railway Station, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh will have direct train service.
- The administration wants to build railroad connections to all of the northeastern state capitals as soon as possible.

HDFC is the leader in the credit card market while SBI tops the charts in the debit card market

- The country's largest bank State Bank of India (SBI) maintained its leading position in the debit card market till June 2022 and HDFC Bank in the credit card market.

- According to data compiled by PGA Labs, public sector banks hold a larger percentage of the debit card market than private banks, while Bank of Baroda is second in the credit card market with 8% market share.
- As of June 2022, Canara Bank, Union Bank, and Punjab National Bank are ranked third, fourth, and fifth on the list with 5% each.
- HDFC Bank leads the credit card segment with a market share of 22%, followed by State Bank of India (SBI) (18%), ICICI Bank (17%), Axis Bank (12%), RBL Bank (5 %), and remains on the list with Kotak Mahindra Bank (5%).
- According to government data, premium credit cards like American Express and CITI Bank, which have negative growth rates of -8% and -2 respectively, are losing market share.
- RBI's decision to allow HDFC Bank to issue new credit cards in August last year is mostly supportive of the increase in card addition rate.

Judo World Championships: Linthoi Chanambam wins India's first gold medal
