Indian Railway Protection Force launched "Operation Yatri Suraksha"

Union Minister Jitendra Singh unveils India's first saltwater lantern
Why in News:
- Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of Earth Sciences, has unveiled "Roshini," the country's first saltwater lantern that uses seawater to light Light Emitting Diode (LED) lamps.
Key Points:
- During its visit to Sagar Anveshika, a coastal research vessel run by the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) Chennai for Marine Research, the government unveiled the first lantern of its kind.
- Seawater is used as an electrolyte between specially crafted electrodes in saltwater lanterns to power the LED lights.
- The development of this technology will make life easier for the less fortunate, particularly the fishing community that lives along India's 7,500 kilometers of coastline.
- The saltwater lantern will also support Prime Minister Narendra Modi's UJALA program, which was established in 2015 to distribute LED lamps around the nation.
- In the Union Territory (UT) of Lakshadweep, three desalination facilities based on LTTD technology have been successfully developed and demonstrated on the islands of Kavaratti, Agati, and Minicoy.
- The islands of UT where the required temperature difference of roughly 15°C between sea surface water and deep-sea water is found close to the Lakshadweep beaches are appropriate for LTTD technology.

India's first 3D-printed human cornea is developed by CCMB, IIT Hyderabad and LVPEI

- For the first time in India, researchers from Hyderabad have 3D printed an artificial cornea (a human cornea) and successfully implanted it in a rabbit's eye.
Key Points:
- Researchers from the L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H), and the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) have developed a 3D-printed human cornea manufactured from human donor corneal tissue.
- The (3D-Printed Human Cornea) product is fully natural, free of synthetic components, and safe for use by patients. It was produced locally with assistance from governmental and charitable groups.
- Researchers from LVPEI, IITH, and CCMB used the decellularized corneal tissue matrix and stem cells produced from human eyes to create a unique biomimetic hydrogel.
- The foundation material for the 3D-printed human cornea is this hydrogel.
- Human corneal tissue was used to create the 3D-printed human cornea, which is biocompatible, all-natural, and free of any animal ingredients.

- Veer Durgadas Rathore, a Marwari warrior, oversaw the Rathore army during the Rajput War (1679–1707), and he also had a significant impact on the Rajput Rebellion (1708–1710), which was a crucial factor in the fall of the Mughal Empire.
