India launches 'Urban Wastewater Landscape in India' at World Water Congress and Exhibition 2022

  • A white paper on "Urban Wastewater Landscape in India" was released at the Exhibition 2022. Hon. Minister of Waterpower Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Hon. Minister Ms. Lee Vermelin, Minister for Environment, Denmark, and Hon. Minister Shri Fleming Möller Mortensen, Minister for Development Cooperation, Denmark attended the World Water Congress of the International Water Association (IWA) in Copenhagen, Denmark with an Indian delegation.

Key Point:

  • The Government of India formed a multidisciplinary team with partners from the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, Ministry of Jal Shakti and National Mission for Clean Ganga, International Agency Innovation Center Denmark, and Academic Indian Institute of Technology Bombay to prepare a White Paper on Urban Wastewater Management.
  • This white paper describes the current state of wastewater treatment in India as a whole as well as potential steps that might be taken to collaborate, co-create, and design future treatment systems.
  • The Green Strategic Partnership between India and Denmark, with an emphasis on Green Hydrogen, Renewable Energy, Wastewater Management, and their bilateral ties, is the source of this white paper.

  • It aspires to make cross-border travel paperless while maintaining the TIR system's customs assurance.

  • Address has created patent-pending technology for upgrading smart cities and is collaborating with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) to create a digital addressing system.
  • According to the MoU, all businesses, all governmental organizations, and emergency services, including police, fire departments, and ambulances, may use the Address App to provide services including electronic Know Your Customer (E-KYC) and geotagging.
  • In order to give access to digital addressing systems, address navigation will be integrated with government platforms for power, agriculture, excise, women and child welfare, and education.
  • All of MP Tourism's tourist destinations will be geotagged with bus stops, public restrooms, and bus stops. They will also be integrated with websites by Address.
