Chhattisgarh MLA list consists of the members of the state Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly). The legislature of Chhattisgarh is unicameral, meaning that there is only one house that votes. At present, there are 90 MLAs in Chhattisgarh, each with one seat in the legislature. The term of the MLA dissolves after five years, under normal circumstances.

The current Assembly of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly was elected in 2018 wherein the INC won 71 seats to form the government. In this article, we have shared the list of MLAs in Chhattisgarh, along with details about their name, party, and constituency.

Chhattisgarh MLA List 2023

There are 90 MLAs in Chhattisgarh who look after the legislature and administration of their respective constituencies. The voting system in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly is first-past-the-post or single-member plurality voting. Every Chhattisgarh MLA serves for a period of five years in the Assembly unless disqualified earlier.

The Chhattisgarh MLAs are required to be present in the three annual sessions of the Assembly, Budget session, winter session, and monsoon session. The MLAs represent their respective constituencies at the Assembly session.

History of Chhattisgarh MLA

Currently, the fifth Assembly session is in progress in Chhattisgarh. This Assembly was elected in 2018 and since the tenure of Chhattisgarh MLAs lasts for a period of five years, the Assembly will be re-elected in 2023. The history of Chhattisgarh MLAs is as follows.

  • The first Assembly of Chhattisgarh was elected in 1998.
  • To date, five Assembly sessions have been held in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, in 1998, 2003, 2008, 2013, and 2018.
  • In 2020, the construction of a new building for the Vidhan Sabha was announced in Chhattisgarh.
