Operationalizing under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas ownership, the IOCL made a net profit of around 6.1 billion US dollars and net revenue of 4939.33 billion INR in 2020-21 to be listed under the India Fortune 500.

The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation or ONGC is a registered crude oil and natural gas corporation, which falls under the ownership of the Government of India. ONGC produces around 70% of crude oil and 84% of natural gas. In 2020-21, the ONGC made a gross revenue turnover of INR 4052.43 billion.

India Fortune 500 companies rank the State Bank of India or SBI fourth based on its total revenue of 3680.11 billion generated last year. SBI Is a financial service statutory body and a public sector bank. SBI also ranks under 250 in the Fortune Global 500 list of the world's top corporations in 2020.

  • Bharat Petroleum Corporation

Another oil and gas corporation functional under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas ownership, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited or the BPCL, is the second-largest downstream oil corporation. The corporation generated an estimated 2889.75 billion INR in 2020-21.
