AFCAT Military Aptitude Test

The Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is conducted twice a year by the Indian Air Force for recruitment of Officers in Flying (Pilot) & Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) branches.

The AFCAT 01/2022 online application will begin soon & the Exam date for filing of the form will also be disclosed along with the notification.

Though the level of questions that are asked in the exam are of easy to a moderate level, the thing which makes AFCAT difficult is the variety of questions that is covered in the exam. The cut-off remains high and hence getting every number is one step towards selection.

Now, let's discuss the Military Aptitude section that is asked in the AFCAT exam.

The Armed Forces use psychometric and aptitude tests to screen applicants and make suitable selection choices. An aptitude test can assist recruiters to make wiser choices about matching skill requirements.

This is the reason why in the SSB Interview also a candidate is given the OIR Test.

The Military Aptitude Test is an important part of Reasoning. The various types of topics that are asked in the Military Aptitude Test are:

Sequence Completion

The figures given below follow a series. Out of these figures, A, B, C, and D which figure will replace the question mark so that the series remains continued?

Solution: In each next figure the already presents lines start to deplete with the figures at their end being deleted. Also, a new line is added with titled lined at its ends. The titled lines increase in each figure. Hence, the correct answer should be an option (A)

Missing Figure:

In the following question what will come in place of the question mark so that the figures are in series.

Solution: The figures become half and become detached in the alternative figures. Hence the question makes will be replaced by two rectangles aligned horizontally and at a distance from each other.

Analogy:

In the following question the two figures on the left of ‘::’ follow relationship. Which figure should replace the ‘?’ so the figures on the right of ‘::’ should follow the same relationship?

Solution: The First figure has a triangle inside a square. In figure 2 the square comes inside the triangle, also the square is placed at the center of the triangle. Similarly, in the 3rd figure, the triangle is given inside a pentagon. So in figure 4, the Pentagon should be inside the triangle, and also the triangle should be exactly at the center of the triangle. Hence option (b) is the correct answer.

Mirror Image or horizontal Plane is a new addition part in non-verbal reasoning:

Have you ever seen your face in the mirror?

The simple logic is that in a mirror the right hand becomes left and the left hand becomes right (the top upper level and down lower level remain the same). Just keep this much in mind and it will do the trick.
