What is XAT Score?

As per the expert’s opinion, XAT Score simply means the overall marks of the candidate calculated based on the scheme representing the XAT Exam Pattern. Below are the basic details for XAT Marking Scheme, and every candidate must have a fair idea of this.

  • For each correct answer, one mark is awarded
  • For each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be reduced
  • For every unattempted question, after 8 unattempted questions, a negative 0.10 mark will be awarded.
  • There is no XAT Negative Marking for General Knowledge questions.
  • The essay shall be evaluated only after the candidate is shortlisted for the interview.
  • XAT Total marks are calculated based on the number of questions attempted by the candidate, taking into consideration of the above points

How to Calculate XAT Score?

How to Check XAT Score?

The candidates can check the XAT Score by the below-mentioned process.

  • First, candidates have to wait for the XAT Answer Key.
  • Once the answer key is released, the candidates can easily evaluate their XAT Result on their correct/wrong/un-attempt questions.
  • The steps have already been described above. You just need to follow the steps and calculate your XAT score.

What is XAT Percentile?

Percentile in XAT is the computation of the percentage based on his/her performance in the XAT Test as well as the number of test-takers. The XAT Percentile calculation is estimated with the help of the candidates appearing in the examination. It is calculated to create a XAT Merit List according to the number of candidates who appeared for the test. After ranking, calculate the percentile according to the steps shown below.

How to Calculate XAT Percentile?

The candidates can follow the steps below to calculate XAT Percentile.

  • Step 1- The first step is to calculate the number of candidates (N) who have appeared for the examination in both shifts.
  • Step 2- First, consider the marks of one of the sections of XAT. Let us take the Quantitative Ability section.
  • Step 3- Then, rank (R) all the candidates according to the marks obtained in QA. 
  • Step 4- Calculate the percentile (P) of the candidate with ranking (R) in the QA section as shown: P = (N-r)/N x 100
  • Step 5- Now, a round of the percentile to two decimal points
  • Now follow the same procedure to calculate the percentile of all other sections and the XAT Percentile. The candidates must check the XAT Analysis of previous years to get an idea of the exam difficulty level, and the types of questions asked in the exam.

[Important Note:: The G.K. section of the XAT is not considered to calculate XAT Percentile]

How to Check XAT Percentile?

You can follow the steps below to check XAT Percentile.

  • Log in to the official XAT Website to check the XAT Score Card
  • XAT Score Card tab is available on the top of the screen
  • Go to that section. Enter your details: XAT ID and DOB
  • Your scorecard will be visible. In that, the XAT Percentile for each section and the overall section will be provided.
