We need democracy because it empowers the people. A “democracy” is a form of government that is “for the people, by the people, and of the people.” As a result, it prioritizes the countrymen and expects equal contributions from all citizens in its administration. Democracy is a government for the people and considers their interests as a top priority.

It gives its citizens equal rights and powers, instilling in them a sense of pride and dignity. A democracy promotes secularism and freedom of speech and expression so that everyone’s voice is heard and the government makes no bad decisions.
Democracy grants its citizens the valuable right to vote, implying that the people can choose the government they want to bring to power. They can choose their leaders as well as outvote them if they do not perform as promised. Citizens’ involvement in decision-making is critical in a democracy.
