Sarojini Naidu was the first woman governor of India who governed Uttar Pradesh from 15th August to 2 March 1949. Uttar Pradesh was the first state of India to elect a lady as governor for the first time in history. Whereas her daughter Padmaja Naidu was the longest-serving female governor of India in Kolkata.
