Mahatma Gandhi is known as the Father of the Nation. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was the first person to call Mahatma Gandhi as the Father of the Nation from Azad Hind Radio on July 6th, 1944. Later Parliament of Independent India officially declared Gandhiji as the Father of Nation.

The father of nation is Mahatma Gandhi because it was he who got freedom for us. He was the maker of Modern India. The first person who gave this title to Gandhi ji was Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose from Azad Hind Radio on July 6th, 1944. A person who is recognized as the primary factor behind the formation of a country, state, or nation is given the honorary title Father of the Nation.
