Pushyagupta Vaishya was the governor of Saurashtra, and he built the Sudarshan Lake on the orders of Emperor Chandragupta Maurya. Sudarshan Lake is built in the middle of a hill that was popularly known as the Girnar. It was the most famous irrigation work of the early Mauryan period in Junagarh, Gujarat.
