hich of the following is required for oscillation?
- |A|≥1
- The phase shift around the feedback network must be 00.
- Both |A|≥1 and the phase shift around the feedback network must be 00.
- None of the above
Answer – C. Both Aβ>1 and the phase shift around the feedback network must be 00.
The answer to the question, which of the following is required for oscillation is Both Aβ >1 and the phase shift around the feedback network must be 00.
Solution:
To determine the oscillation in the linear electronic circuit, we need to satisfy one criterion which is known as the Barkhausen stability criterion which is applied to linear circuits with a feedback loop. |Aβ| ≥ 1 and phase shift around the loop is zero or multiple integers of 2π.
Barkhausen’s criterion is a necessary condition for oscillation but not a sufficient condition: some circuits satisfy the criterion but do not oscillate.
Therefore, the required conditions for oscillation are Both |Aβ| ≥ 1, and the phase shift around the feedback network must be 00. Hence, Option (C) is the correct answer.
