The Olive Ridley Turtle is the Smallest Sea Turtle in India. They are found in the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean. They are the most abundant of all sea turtles found in the world. The unique mass nesting of Olive Ridley Turtles is called Arribada.

In India, the three river mouths where the Olive Ridley Turtles come together for mass nesting are the Dhamra River, Rushikulya River and Devi River. Odisha’s Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary is known as the world’s largest rookery (a colony of breeding animals) of sea turtles. Gahirmatha is the world’s largest nesting beach for Olive Ridley Sea Turtles.
