Location of Sulaiman and Kirthar Hills
The Sulaiman and Kirthar hills are located in Pakistan. The Sulaiman mountains are located in northern Balochistan and are spread across southwest Punjab, south Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They form the boundaries of the Iranian Plateau in the east and the Balochistan Plateau in the northeast. ‘Takht-e-Sulaiman’ is the famous twin peak of these mountains.
The Kirthar Mountains run across the Baluchistan and Sindh provinces. They also form a part of the Kirthar National Park. It also stretches from Mula River in Balochistan to Cape Monze in the Arabian Sea. Together with Sulaiman hills, it forms the Kirthar-Sulaiman geologic province that stretches from the northern Arabian Sea coast to the northwest of the Sulaiman Mountains.
