The National Investigation Agency (NIA) was established on31st December 2008 and its headquarter is in New Delhi. NIA is a counter-terrorist task force of India that came into existence in 2008 by an act of the Parliament of India. It was established following the deadly 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai. It functions under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. NIA has its branches spread in Guwahati, Kochi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Raipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ranchi, Patna, Chennai, Bengaluru, Imphal, Jammu, Chandigarh and Raipur.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is the counter-terrorism agency that has its headquarters in New Delhi. It was established on 31st December 2008 after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack that had happened the same year.
