Jhoom farming is known as Roca in Brazil whereas the word Jhum is commonly known in India, Ladang in Indonesia, and Milpa in Central America and Mexico. The other word for Jhoom is Shifting cultivation. It is the local word for slash agriculture and a popular method in the Northeastern states of India.
