What is the Source Of Energy Of The Sun?

By Manesh Singh|Updated : June 23rd, 2022

The simple answer to this question is ‘Nuclear Fusion. The process of nuclear fusion includes the conversion of Hydrogen to Helium. During this process of fusion, the temperature and the high pressure in the core of the sun make the nuclei to get separated from the electrons, hence the hydrogen converts into helium resulting in the release of radiant energy. This energy is what is called the energy released by Sun.

In our solar system, we have millions of stars, Sun is one of the leading stars when it comes to the matter of being the largest stars in our solar system. The sun radiates an enormous amount of energy-containing ultraviolet and infiltrates radiations with the energy in the form of light. Sun radiates an enormous amount of energy that becomes a very important source of life's existence on Earth. Now, the question arises, what is the source of energy of the sun?

How Does The Sun Produce Energy That Heats Our Planet?

The sun creates energy known as solar energy. This energy includes ultraviolet lights, radio waves, Infrared rays, X-rays and Gama rays, and Visible light. The energy produced by the sun plays a very important role in the existence of life on Earth.

Here, two protons combine to produce a deuterium nucleus along with the positron, a deuteron and a proton combine to form He3++ and two He3s that combines to create an alpha particle plus two spare protons. These reactions also produce neutrinos and energy.

Summary:

What is the Source Of Energy Of The Sun?

‘Nuclear Fusion is the process known to be responsible for the creation of the source of energy for the Sun. This process of nuclear fusion includes the following-

  • Takes place inside the core of the sun
  • Protons of the hydrogen atom collide in the core of the sun
  • Nuclei Gets Separated from the electrons
  • Hydrogen turns into helium
  • Release of the radiant energy

Source Of Energy Of The Sun FAQs

  • The process of the creation of the source of energy for the sun is known as ‘Nuclear Fusion. This process takes place in the sun’s core and works on the conversion of hydrogen into helium.

  • The energy created by the sun is known as ‘Solar Energy’. Solar energy is one of the most important energies available for the existence of life on Earth. It is visible in the form of light to human beings. There is little more energy created by the sun but is not visible to human light.
