How do solar cell works?
N-type and p-type silicon are placed together to form solar cells. By harnessing sunlight, it generates energy by driving electrons to hop across the junction between two varieties of silicon:
- When sunlight shines on a cell, light molecules (photons) attack the top surface of the cell.
- Energy is transported through the cell by photons.
- Photons think about giving up their energy-producing electrons in the bottom, p-type layer.
