What is Article 327?

The power of the Parliament to establish rules governing legislative elections is discussed in Article 327. The Drafting Committee Chairman pushed an amendment to alter the powers of the Parliament to include the preparation of electoral rolls.

Article 327 - Constitution of India

Subject to the provisions of this Constitution, Parliament may, from time to time, by law, make provisions about all matters relating to, or in connection with, elections to either House of Parliament, to the House, or to either House of the Legislature of a State, including the preparation of electoral rolls, the delimitation of constituencies, and all other matters necessary for securing the proper constitution of such House or Houses.
