Constitution Of India Article 325
- Elections to either the Parliament House or the House or Legislature House of a State further stipulate that there has to be one general electoral roll for each territorial constituency.
- No person shall be excluded from any such claim or roll to be added in any special electoral roll for any such constituency based solely on their religion, sex, race, caste, or any of them.
- The objective behind the Article 325 provision was to categorically state that there would be no separate electorates for minorities.
What is Article 325?
According to Article 325 of the Indian Constitution, no person shall be barred from being included on, or seeking to be included on, a special electoral roster based on religion, race, caste, or sex.
