The Temperate Zone ranges from 23.5 degrees to 66.5 degrees in both the northern and southern hemispheres. Between the Arctic Circle and the Tropic of Cancer is the North Temperate Zone. Between the Arctic Circle and the Tropic of Capricorn is where you’ll find the South Temperate Zone. The region of the earth’s surface in the Northern Hemisphere between the Tropic of Cancer and the Arctic Circle is known for its mild spring and autumn weather, as well as its cold and warm winters.

Temperate Zone Range
The Temperate zone lies between the subtropical and the Polar regions of the Southeast and Southwest United States and the more northerly boreal zone of Canada and Alaska. There are two types of Temperate Zone on Earth: North Temperate Zone & South Temperate Zone. These zones are located in two different areas of the Earth.
Based on a combination of existing climatic life zone classifications that use temperature, precipitation, and large vegetation groups to define the zones, their categorization was based on these factors.
- The temperate zone lies between the more northern forests zone of Canada and Alaska and the subtropical region of the southeast and southwest of the United States.
- There are four seasons occurring annually in the Temperate zone that are- summers, winters, spring, and autumn.
- The location of the North Temperate Zone is between the Arctic Circle at 66° 33′ N and the Tropic of Cancer at 23° 27′ N.
- The South Temperate Zone is located somewhere between the Tropic of Capricorn at 23° 27′ S and the Antarctic Circle at 66° 33′ S.
