Facilities for mother-tongue instruction at the primary level are provided by Article 350 A. Every State and every local government within a State are required to make every effort to give children from linguistic minority groups suitable facilities for instruction in their native tongue during the primary stage of education.

Provision of Article 350 A

Article 350 A states that:

  • The President may give any State the instructions he deems appropriate or necessary to ensure the provision of such facilities.
  • "It shall be the endeavor of every State and of every local authority within the State to provide adequate facilities for instruction in the mother-tongue at the primary stage of education to children belonging to linguistic minority groups."
